Museums: The Pell Center was established at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, by an Act of the United States Congress on September 28, 1996, to honor Senator Claiborne Pell. The Pell Center promotes the primary objectives of Senator Pell's decades of public service: enhancing international dialogue to achieve a more peaceful world and preparing individuals for an informed and active role in local, national, and world affairs.
